This includes proper light penetration into the skin, which is achieved by close proximity to uncovered skin. The LightStim Bed requires you to focus on one side at a time to get your body in direct contact with the 18,000 LEDs and the distance of LED diode to skin does matter for proper light treatment. The “coffin / tanning bed” style beds can’t achieve that with the top lid.

Additionally, we recommend covering your upper half of your body with a towel to help generate full blood circulation in the body through the warmer temperature that will be created by the bed. Clients who wish to receive light treatment on both sides of their body will simply turn over halfway through the treatment.

While you’ll likely see many photos online of clients wearing clothes, it is recommended to remove all clothing on the desired treatment areas. The simple reason for this is the red light will only properly penetrate the skin if there are no obstacles in between, such as clothes or bandages.
